This lesson series will help you develop a stronger head voice - a big goal for almost every beginning singer! Your head voice or falsetto function is naturally lighter than chest voice; and since it’s not often utilized in daily speech, it can be weak and breathy. We’ll use “Amazing Grace” as our song example, along with exercises and techniques to utilize when working on any song of your choosing.
In part 1, we’ll cover vowel choice and modification, as you experience what a huge difference vowels can make in strengthening your sound. In part 2, we’ll work with semi-closed support, using not only semi-closed exercises but also the semi-closed sounds that naturally occur in consonants as we sing lyrics. And in part 3, we’ll use bright sounds to help your vocal folds come together for a clearer, more resonant tone.
