Description:

In this introduction to better breathing for singers, Abram explains the importance of breath control and how it impacts your vocal performance. You’ll learn how to use breath efficiently to support longer phrases and improve pitch and tone.

This video includes a short daily warmup routine that you can incorporate into your practice:
  1. Fogging the Mirror – A simple breath control exercise where you exhale as if fogging a mirror to warm up your breath.
  2. Long hissing exhale – Exhale on a hiss to control and sustain your breath over a longer period.
  3. Ha to Hiss exhale – Transition from a quick "Ha" to a long hissing sound, helping with controlled release of breath.
  4. Vocal Drone Sustain – Sustain a single pitch to develop breath consistency and support over long phrases.
