Description:
In this series, you’ll learn some easy riffs to go from this:
Ab Eb Db Ab Eb Ab
"What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?"
To this:
Ab Eb Db Ab Eb Ab
"What so proudly we hailed (TLS) at the twilight's last gleaming? (MRD D)"
Ab Eb Db Ab Eb Ab
"What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?"
To this:
Ab Eb Db Ab Eb Ab
"What so proudly we hailed (TLS) at the twilight's last gleaming? (MRD D)"
This lesson series focuses on easy beginner riffs and runs, starting with 3-note riffs in part 1. In part 2, we’ll learn pulses, which sound like this, and bends, which sound like this. In part 3, we’ll put those elements together to come up with more complex-sounding riffs like this.
Please note that the range of these exercises will be most suitable for sopranos, mezzos, and altos. Some high tenors may be able to join as well! Of course, you’re welcome to sing along one octave lower if you have a lower voice, but my demonstrations will be the most comfortable fit for higher voices. With each lesson, we’ll learn an exercise or two to practice the pattern, and then apply that pattern in the context of a song. Once you’ve completed the series, I encourage you to keep practicing with the provided exercise MP3s and find spots in your song of choice to try them out!
