Description:
This series is intended for Bass, Baritone, and Tenors. Because those voice types span a wide range already, you’ll probably find one section more challenging than the others. Low Basses may be comfortable with most pitches in the low range extension exercises, and high Tenors may be comfortable in the high range extension exercises. The reality is: most singers are somewhere in the middle, or the “Baritone” range, so hopefully you get a stretch on both ends.
If an exercise goes too high or low to be sung, please consider the following, in order:
- Modify the syllable or vowel (meaning, sing on something that feels easier to you)
- Switch to something semi-closed (like a lip trill, straw singing, hum or NG)
- Sing the pitches you can, and audiate (sing in your head) any pitches you can’t
- Drop out and rejoin when you’re able
Join me for an easy, medium-range warmup!
