Description:

Welcome to your 2-week course on developing vibrato! If you haven’t already completed a level 1 beginner course, we recommend you start there. This series assumes that you are matching pitch and accessing the different registers in your voice. You can still be a beginning singer, but if you’re brand-new, the level 1 beginner course is where you should start.

The pitches covered will be low to medium-high range for most low-voiced singers. We won’t sing much lower than a C3, or higher than an E4. That’s consistent with the Bari-tenor range. Because vibrato is most likely to appear when your voice feels relaxed, we’ll stick within a pretty limited range for the majority of exercises.

Vibrato is your voice’s natural method for protecting itself! We can encourage vibrato by working our voice, and then giving it a chance to relax and find proper balance. The two following exercises will do just that.

Exercises:
Rapid 15151 (sustain at the end) Wah
Descending waterfall 8531 (sustain at the end) Yah
