Hello, I just started and wanted to say thank you, Camille - I love to sing but have never learned how so am a complete beginner from just about every perspective... I am having such a good time and am still just in the warm-up lesson, doing it each day. I have been terrible at the lip trills, could only get close if I did them really forcefully, nothing gentle like I see you doing, it has been hilarious... But I figured I would just keep trying, and just now I made a sweet little lip trill, even with the voice to it!!!!! So amazing. Thank you and looking forward to the lessons to come. :) Sarah

Awesome, Sarah! Here's a little more guidance with lip trills, if you'd like:

Thank you Sespsyd for your post! I was concerned...I just started with this program and with Camile's beginner lesson, she is super. I was concerned that I would not be able to do the lip trills as I have dentures, and when I tried I could not seem to get it right unless I was forcing like you mentioned. I am hopefull after reading your post that with continued practice I will be able to.
Thank you to Camile also, looking forward to completing all the lessons.

Welcome, Lori! Any semi-closed exercise is a good replacement, if you prefer: https://www.voicescienceworks.org/sovt-exercises.html.

Hello again Camille! I now have a more specific lip-trill question, and I figured would just post here. I watched/read all extras, thank you so much. I am finding that I can get an unassisted lip trill sometimes, not always. When I do (way less than 50% of the time) it still tends to take more breath than needed to do the warm-up, and doesn't last/not smooth--I have to restart over and over. I noticed that it is sometimes easier if I am leaning forward. As well, I do find that supporting my cheeks just that little bit (from one of the YouTube tutorials or blog) does the trick, and I can sustain a lighter lip trill, with voice. So I am basically wondering if this can be essentially anatomical, and it would be fine to do this warm-up forever with fingers assist? Or is more about skill/muscles and better not to over-use assist? Thank you and continuing to just love my lessons. :) Sarah

Great question, Sarah! It's no problem at all to continue lip trilling with finger assist. However, if you find you're leaking a lot of air and unable to complete the exercise, I'd try other semi-occluded exercises to see if there's a more efficient alternative for you.

Hey Camille, I just bought this package today, and I have learned so much from going through your videos before I really start. I am someone who has been trying to teach themself singing for years since I could never afford voice lessons, but hasn't gotten very far. I'm definitely better than when I started but I haven't made that much progress for 4-5 years. Like I don't have a problem doing the lip trills because I've been doing them for years so it's easy, and My stomach doesn't tighten when I sing like when I was 13 and I have much better breathe support , strength in my voice and compression (although there's room for improvement in all those areas for me). But things I have problems with are extending my range, how to sing in head voice, and I don't have a vibrato, and I would like a better tone. I have two questions....how can I make sure I improve the most I can? and when I do the head voice warm up, it seems really easy to make that sound and when I do it I feel like I can't be doing it right since it doesn't feel like how I usually sing or talk in my chest voice. I'm not sure if I explained that the best. It just feels like I am making a sound. So with that, is is me doing those head voice warm ups supposed to result in my head voice sound stronger by practicing it for a while, and will I be able to hit higher notes?

Hello, Kevienadixon16! I see you posted on a separate thread, so I'll answer there!
