Hi, Danny!
If you're completely new to singing, then singing in head voice will be a new sensation. What you should definitely be looking out for is pain. Would you describe the tingling as painful, or just odd?
I'd use the gentlest exercises possible to start: lip trills, humming, NG, singing through a straw, or singing on a MUM (particularly in your middle and high range) - even if we're instructing to use an open vowel or something else. You can always switch to one of the above configurations/syllables instead when you start to feel any strain or pain.
Let me know how it goes!

Sure thing! You're also welcome to drop down the octave if it's simply too high to be sung comfortably. No singer has a limitless range! But do try to find the syllable or configuration that allows you to sing higher with more ease.
