Hi Camille,
I've found out that I can sing higher notes in mixed voice easily when I sing along with another singers voice or recording, but if I sing the same song on my own I will automatically flip into headvoice at the higher notes...😣 what can I do about it?
it feels as if when my training wheels are taken off, I don't have the confidence to sing in higher mixed voice...thank you,
all the best

That makes sense! There's a sense of safety and security when matching another voice, and it feels jarring to take that away. Our voice responds by reverting to what's "easy" and feels safer (head voice).
I recommend you continue singing along with the recording, but repeat and gradually turn down the volume, so you still have some support. Try to memorize the sensation of mix, instead of relying solely on the sound. Hope that helps!
