Hi Camille, I've been trying to mix high notes such as B4/C5 as Shawn Mendes does, and when I was doing some research about this, I found several authors who claimed that in order to sing in a powerful mix voice we have to "nasalize" our head voice and lifting the soft palate. I could not understand this so I was hoping that you could clarify my doubts.
How can we mix high notes without losing the intonation and the control?

Hi, Tobias! Singing on a "bratty" or "nasal" sound can definitely help to find those higher pitches with some chesty connection (without shouting). I personally don't think too much about the soft palate when it comes to registration - I see it more as a tonal adjustment (lower palate for more "edge" or "ring" and higher palate for more warmth and space).
B4 and C5 are quite high, so it's possible that you'll have more success in a "head-dominant mix" (or a nasalized head voice) for the time being. This hour-long lesson covers mixing from chest voice and head voice, which I think you'll find helpful!
