Hi there.
Thanks for this amazing course. I'm really enjoying it!
I've just finished the first week and I have just one question. Sorry if this has been asked before.
I'm a male with probably a baritone range. Should I be aiming to sing the tutorial song in the same octave as you or in a lower one?
I can just about follow in your range, which is an effort, but I'm ok with that if it's beneficial.
If it helps, I'm ok with the warm-ups up to the point where you say "Higher singers continue".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Craig.

Hi, Craig! Glad you're enjoying it, and thank you for your question!
My answer is always: sing in your comfortable range. For a baritone, you can almost always sing the octave below me (since I'm an alto). Tenors (higher male voices) may sometimes sing in the same octave as female singers. The exception to the "sing in your comfortable range" rule is when you're working on range extension or singing over your passaggio - that may not be "comfortable" for beginners, but it shouldn't be painful. You want to spend most of your time singing in the range you'll actually use!
Any time I say "lower voices down here" when giving starting pitches, that's referring to male singers. As for the song specifically, since we're in the key of Bb, you should be comfortable the octave below me!
