Creating a daily exercise routine

    Hi everyone,

What is the best way to create a good exercise routine? There are lots of premade warm-ups, but I would like to make it my own.

I want to create a complete daily exercise routine, to train my voice in the best way possible.

    - What is the best duration and when would it be to much?
    - What components should I definitely include?
    - Is it necessary to switch up between exercises that trains the same 'muscle'?

-Could you train every aspect of your voice with SOVT exercises?

Lots of questions, I hope you have tips :)

Great questions, Nazli! Here's an article I wrote on this exact topic: https://www.30daysinger.com/blog/vocal-warm-ups-building-a-routine

As for duration, 10-15 minutes of exercise is usually sufficient, followed by song work. Total practice time can be up to an hour or even longer, depending on how you feel. If your voice feels sore or tired, it's definitely time to rest.

It's helpful to use different exercises (vowels, syllables, and melodic patterns) to better prepare you for the challenges of an actual song and not "miss" any spot in your range.

And lastly, SOVT's are awesome, but they're significantly easier than singing open vowels or syllables. Incorporate vowels and syllables (that combines consonants and vowels) to prepare you for song work.
