Can a corset somehow permanently affect you?

If your wearing a corset which reorganizes or molds your ribs so you can look slimmer, can that affect your singing?

Although I can't speak from experience, I would be concerned about the corset inhibiting your ability to take full, relaxed breaths. 

Absolutely Bella! You need the diaphram(lower abdomen). When you wear a corset it will inhibit your ability to fully utilize your diaphram. Good solid breath is an instruemental part of healthy singing and singing with full power.   You dont want to cut your breathe off and then over engage your throat(larynx). Not good.
