Hello.
I'm someone that typically is a nervous wreck while singing around others (unless I'm singing along to the radio). That being said, I live in an apartment, so I don't really have a quiet/private area I can comfortably practice singing on a regular basis. I mean, I could practice late at night when everyone's sleeping, which is what I've been doing, but I worry I might wake someone up. So I guess what I'm wondering is do you have some tips on how I can practice, or some ideas of places I could go? I hate having to practice in my apartment, but at the same time, I really wanna improve my singing.
Thank you :) -

Hi, Sam!
Do you have a friend or family member with some extra space for you to practice in? Local colleges and music stores also provide or rent out practice rooms, but that will probably cost you (unless you're a student at the college with practice room access).
To practice while staying in your apartment, try to find the room that's furthest from your neighbors, close the door, and turn on some music at a medium volume to sing along with! Use karaoke tracks or sing along with the original, and I think your neighbors won't mind as much. If possible, do warmups at a time when people are likely to be at work (I know, lots of us are working from home right now) - but usually, you can find a time when more of your neighbors are away.
There is a product called the BeltBox, which I haven't used and am definitely not endorsing, but something like that is another option. Reviews are mixed, and it looks like you'd need to constantly remove it from your face (to breathe through your mouth). Might not be worth it, but you can read through the reviews! https://www.amazon.com/BELTBOX-Dampener-Singers-Performers-Portable/dp/B01FRK4MLA
