I have had several friends tell me that my pitch matching and my ear where my biggest problem. First off how do I work on building those skills and how long should I work on them. I began practicing piano to work on that. what more can I do. I have currently been playing a note and trying to match it. Have also been use singing carrots to workon pitch matching. How long should I except it to take roughly to start seeing resault

You can start with this course: https://www.30daysinger.com/tutorial/how-to-sing-in-tune-for-beginners-part-1.
That sounds like a great plan - piano and pitch matching with a chromatic tuner! You can look into other ear training apps that give feedback on pitch. It's a skill that does require some feedback to ensure you're in tune (either with a teacher or a chromatic tuner). With my most pitch-challenged students, it can take several weeks to see marked improvement, but most don't take that long.

Hi! I have a related question. Camille, when you sing a pitch in the videos, I can match it effortlessly. However, when you only play a pitch on the piano, I cannot match it at all... To my brain the sound the piano makes is completely different from the sound your voice makes, even when it's the same pitch. Is this a familiar problem? What can I do?

Hi, Jacqueline! That is common - many beginners have an easier time matching a voice. I recommend you work with a chromatic tuner to start building this "muscle". Check out the lesson series below!
