Hi Everyone,
I watched a video and it told me to not get louder when singing higher notes. During the video, it seemed like he kept his larynx down so I did that. It helped. I wanna ask how can you not get louder as you get higher? Thanks!

Hi, Aaron! I personally don't think it's necessary to avoid getting louder as a general rule. If you tend to "push" for high notes or you have a hard time transitioning to head voice, then I'd encourage not getting louder (as a means of discouraging "pushing").
In the same way that you can speak more quietly, you can sing more quietly! Think of "backing off", "taking your foot off the gas", "getting smaller" - any cue or visualization that helps you sing quieter (to counteract getting louder). Hope that helps!
