Guidance on how to study scales

Hi I've just finished the Beginner's course level 1 and I got curious and wanted to know more about scales and musical notes played in the exercises. What would you recomend? Cause I feel like I'm not always able to follow along especially when there are more notes being played, such as in the mixed voice lesson. 

Just so you know, I'm a complete beginner, I mean I didn't know anything before the course. So, I just wanted to make sure where to go to really grasp the foundations. If you could guide me, I'd appreciate it. Thank you
