Best exercises for a baritone

    Hi there

My speaking voice is quite low and after doing the 'determine your range' exercise (I've been singing a while) I'm looking at D2-C#5, I think.
Which exercises should I be using from the downloadable audio mp3 ones? There only seems to be a bass and a tenor option (no baritone) but I'm probably a natural baritone. I tried the 'hey there' tenor chest ex and it felt a little high for chest.

    Thanks

Hi, Jake! Since your range covers both bass & tenor range, you have a few options:

    1. Alternate randomly to cover a wide range

    2. Use bass exercises on days when your low notes feel good, and tenor exercises on days when your high notes feel good or you feel up for a challenge

    3. Use exercises to set you up for your song work that day (covering the range you're likely to use in whatever songs you plan to sing)

I hope that helps! I also have an "in the middle" range (mezzo soprano) and use the above strategies.
