Hey everyone!
I'm looking into microphones (mainly for podcasting) but I'm looking into using it to practice singing. What would you recommend as an entry level? What should I be looking out for?
Cheers

Hi, Kevin! I see podcasters using dynamic or condenser mics, while singers mostly use condenser mics (but some prefer dynamic). Consider whether you want dynamic or condenser, USB or XLR (which requires an interface), and budget.
One I've heard great things about is the Audio-Technica AT-2020 (it's a USB condenser mic, for sale under $100).
You probably know this, but it's also extremely important to get a pop filter (both for singing and podcasting)!

Hey Kevin, I have done some recording to benchmark my progress. I use my iPad and a Shure MV5 Digital Mic and the setup works pretty nicely. Here is the link to it and to one of my recordings so you can see how it sounds. Nothing special on the recording, just the mic into an iPad using GarageBand.
