hi! :) kind of quick question:
How can I gradually train my voice to sound more powerful? My voice right now when I try to sing powerfully is a bit weak, and in order to compensate I end up pushing and I am aware that I shouldn't be doing that, but without pushing it doesn't exactly feel right. Does it just take time to develop?
Also, completely unrelated to the question above but can I suggest that you guys add a lesson on how to sing musical theatre? I know that genre is quite different than the ones that have lessons about them on here, and I'm sure that other than me there are people that would want some guidance on how to sing in that style.
Thanks in advance!

Great suggestion - thank you!
We're actually filming a lesson series on adding power to your singing this week. The three elements we'll cover (that you can get started on) are:
1. Good cord compression - train on a strong lip trill or NG to get your vocal folds coming together without pushing.
2. Engaging your belly - laugh like Santa Clause (Ho Ho Ho) to feel your belly "helping" support the sound and take that feeling into your singing.
3. Adjust your articulators - small changes like dropping the jaw and making sure the tongue isn't retracting can help bring your sound "forward" without pushing.
Hope that helps in the meantime!
