Hi. I am following the beginner course with Jonathan Estabrooks,
I am struggling with lession four, because I have no sense of rhythem.
I also don't know the difference between pitch and tone.I am a music blank slate. Although I feel like I've improved significantly
from lessons one and two. I had no idea about anything before, then I
tried to sing in the technique that was displayed, my mother went from
laughing at my voice, to being shocked, I feel like if I can develop in this
skill, and become musical, I'might actually be OK at this singing thing.I think Rhythem, melody, and those things are my biggest weaknesses
in a wide spectrum of things I need to learn and know.
As soon as I can, I plan to get a live lession with an instructor. As someone with no background in music, I feel like this is going
to be tough, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.Feel free to leave a comment on what pitch and tone actually are:
And how does one actually sing notes in the right way, will that
be covered as I progress in the course?I have to stop and wait till tomorrow now due to late night time.
But I'm planning to do this everyday (Not Saturday).
I guess my improvement is "beginner syndrome."
But only time will tell. Thanks for reading.Be Blessed.

Hi, Ashley! I hosted a live lesson recently on music theory for beginners, if you'd like to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp8FVRqu7Zk. I also highly recommend https://www.musictheory.net/ for free lessons and exercises!
For a quick answer to your question, pitch is the highness or lowness of a note, and tone is the quality of the sound.

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense.
And Yeah, I'll check those links out. -
