Brian: I've always recorded through an interface, but I've heard over the years that the beginner's go-to is the Blue Yeti. Here's a pretty comprehensive list I recommend checking out: https://www.wirerealm.com/guides/top-10-best-usb-microphones

You'll get conflicting opinions on mics, since higher price doesn't necessarily mean "better" sound. Obviously, we can expect a $200 mic to be better quality than a $50 one. But when you're recording vocals, your mic choice is naturally going to be a bit more subjective, because each person's voice is unique. If you can narrow your search to "best usb mic for tenors with a bright tone" or something like that (however you'd describe your range and vocal quality), you may get some helpful results in reviews of those mics.

    Hello Camille,

Thank you so much for your help with your answers. I will check the videos.

And for the soft palate lesson, I'll be looking forward to it. My last lesson was Day 13 on Jonathan Estabrook's (being a male) but I'll go through yours too afterwards.

Thank you once again for sharing your gift of knowledge and expertise. God bless you.
