I'm a beginner, can sinus problem obstruct me from learning and becoming a good singer.
When I sing before people and I ask them how I am at singing they say you are neither bad nor good, they say I am average. I just started my journey at lessons now through this 30 day beginner course, until now I only used to sing along songs while listening to them.
I believe that if we really want to do something then no challenge is big, but just thought of asking the community and come to know about other people's experience in this regard.
Thanks

Hi, Abdul! Can you elaborate on the effects of your sinus problem? I'm not a doctor, so if you have a family doctor or ENT you can ask, that would be a good idea, too!

Hi Camille,
Hope you are healthy and wealthy.
Majorly my nose gets blocked everynow and then, earlier I didn't have swollen nasal turbinates but from 2 months I am suffering from that too. I am taking medicines as of now for it.
After the doctor performed endoscopy he told everything is normal except two things that is one nostril's wall grew and the turbinates are hyper active and are swelling.
So far I feel sinus didn't affect my singing, I am an average singer, but it can have affect on my breathing or the amount of air that I can take in, will it effect or obstruct me now or in the future from learning/practicing some concepts?
Thanks

Thanks, Abdul! As far as that blockage affecting your tone, it could be noticeable on nasalized consonants (like M and N). Most of your singing shouldn't be too affected.
For breathing, you're normally breathing through your mouth anyways (since it produces a fuller breath, your mouth has to be open to sing, and your inhale can be used as preparation for the upcoming phrase).
From my perspective, only those nasalized sounds might be affected!
