I am just assuming the singing methods in 30 day singer and contemporary western vocal methods used by majority of vocal coaches are if not identical perhaps 90% similar. Am I correct? If not please share some details.

What about Opera singing vocal methods (such as Bel Cante) vs 30 day singer method (aka contemporary vocal method) are they pretty similar? Are there overlaps? Can you share some differences and similarities?

Finally, can you share what are some of the roots and ancestry of moder vocal techniques?

Hi, Naushad! Most contemporary vocal coaches are somewhat influenced by the Speech Level Singing method. However, many of us were trained (at least initially) using bel canto techniques. You'll generally find a blend of influences especially from teachers like myself and Abram who sing contemporary and choral/classical styles. Modern and classical training share a focus on posture, breathing and smooth transitions through registers. They differ in the use of those registers and in many aspects of style: tone quality, vowel shaping, vibrato use, etc. The ideal for me is that singers can sing in a variety of styles, adjusting the stylistic aspects of their technique accordingly, while the basics of posture and breathing remain.
