Camille...what is the difference between falsetto and head tone? In many of the "mix" tutorials like in part 2 and 3, I can still feel chest vibrations quite high up in the exercises. When I think Falsetto, I think Beach Boys, Frankie Valli, etc. Is Neil Young singing in head tones or chest tones?

The contemporary understanding of head voice & falsetto is that falsetto is just a lighter head voice, but they're functionally the same! Sometimes you'll hear the Beach Boys or Franki Valli sound described as "reinforced falsetto". To me, it's all head voice - just different levels of compression (cord closure) and resonance strategies. I don't make a distinction unless it's helpful for an individual student! And as for Neil, he uses both chest and head function, depending on the pitch and intensity.
