Hi friends, I'm only just over a month in this singing journey. I came in here with "I just wanna sound decent" as my goal. I feel like I've hit that goal, yes i need some more polishing and practice with the foundations but i think i got the basic understanding of it. (Still no vibrato though :( ) But I think now I can carry a tune with decent pitch accuracy. I guess I can say I'm half decent now.
With that said, my goal has now changed. I want to become a great singer. I know it'll take sometime but I'm determined to put in the work.
Now my question is regarding "Butter smooth voice", I know you guys have heard some singers that just left you in awe the moment they opened their mouth.
Is it just years and years of practice? Anatomy? Are they just blessed with it? Or is it a technique/style? Or is it something anyone can do with enough practice?
Some references of what i think a butter smooth voice sound like:

P.S. Sorry for the long wind up

Hi, Japhet! Congratulations on reaching your first goal!
I do think some people, due to their anatomy and tonal models growing up, have naturally "buttery" voices. Ella Fitzgerald is #1 for me :) But I think the key is learning to shape your vowels and adjust your resonators so you're maximizing the "richness" in your sound and avoiding overly "bright", "edgy" or "thin" tone. See below for some resources to get you started!
